Tips for Red Stag Deer Hunts

To make red stag deer hunts successful, hunters must know how to make a quick and clean shot. Since deer is an agile animal, you will need something fast to bring it down like a rifle. A rifle is a great weapon for most animal hunts because bullets have great kinetic energy, meaning they are fast, and create an immense shock and tissue damage. Moreover, they can be useful even when the animal is at a long distance. Besides having a perfect weapon and the proficiency of using it, hunters must also know other hunting techniques. With the right technique, killing a deer can be easy and quick. When you know exactly where to hit the deer, you can easily and quickly aim for it and then wait for the bullet to pierce the tissue and reach the vital organs for an instant kill. Know there are a lot of ways to make a quick and clean kill, some of them have been shared with you in this post and are listed as follows:

  1. Broadside Shot: It is tough to find deer at a resting place. This animal is quite alert and sprints very fast. To stop its movement, one of the best places to shoot at is its shoulder and chest. Shooting the animal in these areas will most likely result in a broken shoulder. If your aim is more precise, the bullet might even penetrate its lungs and heart, thus forcing the animal to drop dead in its track.

  2. Quartering Angle Shot: This shot is yet another great one for hunters on red stag deer hunts. For this shot, you must aim behind the front shoulder. Shooting at this angle will allow the bullet pass through the animal's vital organs such as lungs and heart.

  3. Head and Neck Shot: Head and neck are other great areas that can instantly leave the animal defenseless. This shot is difficult to nail but will leave very little to no damage on its meat. Nailing this shot requires quick reflexes, great aim and experience. If you are not so much experienced with such shot but want to give it a try, then aim for these areas when the deer is within a shorter shooting range.

  4. Rear End Shot: Hunters neither prefer nor recommend rear end shot. This is because it can damage the best cuts of venison. But if you want to bring the deer down at any cost, this shot isn't too bad.
  5. Straight On Shot: Hunters can take this short easily. The best areas to target with this shot are head, neck and the center of the chest. These body areas are vital and can bring down the red stag easily.
The above listed techniques can bring exceptional success when you go for red stag deer hunts provided you use your weapon correctly.
